Important Update Notice for Version 5.10: Make sure to read the details below prior to updating.

1. Users on Windows must also update from http://pdanet.co/install.
2. The original WiFi Hotspot feature is still available in the distinct FoxFi application if you require it; simply download it from the Play Store. If needed, the earlier version (4.19) of PdaNet+ can be found at http://pdanet.co/install/old.
3. A new location permission is now essential due to Android's WiFi scanning API requirement.

Be advised that using PdaNet+ without root access comes with certain technical limitations, affecting the app's capabilities. We strive to provide the "most convenient solution possible" for sharing your phone's internet, but it may not fulfill the expectations of an "ideal" or "universal" solution (e.g., a standard WiFi Hotspot) and may potentially not perform on specific devices.

=====Introducing WiFi Direct Mode (New!)====
PdaNet+ now features a brand-new "WiFi Direct Hotspot" capability that is compatible with all Android devices running version 4.1 and higher. This allows you to wirelessly connect computers and tablets to your phone; however, you will need to either install our client application or configure a proxy based on the device you wish to connect. To activate the "WiFi Direct Hotspot," open PdaNet+ and tap the "Help!" button for detailed instructions.

*If your Windows PC does not detect the hotspot during the connection process, please do the following: 1. Restart the hotspot on your phone. 2. Click on "Show All WiFi Direct Hotspot" to check if your adapter supports 5Ghz.

====Old FoxFi/WiFi Hotspot Mode====
The former WiFi Hotspot function is still included in the standalone FoxFi app for those who need it. Note, however, that it has stopped functioning on many newer mobile devices due to updates from carriers. Additionally, even if it works, your hotspot usage could still be subject to metering (see plan 2 below). The new WiFi Direct Hotspot could address some of these concerns, but it does not cater to gaming devices, TVs, or TV streaming devices.

=====USB Mode=====
USB mode is operational on all Android phones (with some exceptions for ZTE/Alcatel models) and facilitates connections with Windows or Mac systems. There is also a "WiFi Share" feature that can transform your Windows computer into a WiFi Hotspot, enabling you to share PdaNet's internet service with additional devices.

*If your computer does not recognize your phone when connected via USB, please refer to http://pdanet.co/driver.

=====Bluetooth Mode=====
Bluetooth mode is available for connecting with Windows, though WiFi Direct mode is recommended.

=====Do You Need This Software?=====
PdaNet software has been in existence since the launch of the first Treo smartphone in 2003. With over 30 million downloads, it must be something everyone requires, right? The answer is nuanced and ultimately depends on the type of data plan associated with your phone. Carriers typically offer four types of data plans:

1. A data plan that does not permit activating the mobile hotspot feature on your phone (it will direct you to contact your carrier).

2. An unlimited data plan allows you to enable the mobile hotspot on your phone, yet the usage for hotspot might be metered against a quota (for instance, 5GB/month). Beyond this, speeds will be significantly reduced (FoxFi cannot bypass this!).

3. An unlimited data plan that permits mobile hotspot usage with unlimited LTE data and no throttling limitations. However, this plan is not officially available or intended. Some users have discovered loopholes on certain phone models that enable this feature.

4. A limited data plan that allows mobile hotspot activation on your phone while adhering to the same data limits as the primary plan.

If your plan falls into categories 1 or 2, PdaNet+ will be necessary. If you are categorized under 3 or 4, PdaNet+ may not provide any advantages. If you are uncertain about your current plan, using PdaNet+ won't have any drawbacks.

=======================
The free edition of PdaNet+ includes a timed usage limit; otherwise, it mirrors the full version.

For users with Sprint and AT&T, you may be unable to download our app via the Play Store, so please download the APK directly from http://pdanet.co/install or install it from a computer.
